Crocker Pond Recreation Area - Rules & Regulations 2007
1.
All areas under the control of the Town of
Westminster will be open between 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, beginning Saturday, May 26th through Monday,
September 3rd & then on Weekends, September 8th
through October 8th. Rain
dates may apply. Hours/days of operation
may be extended at the discretion of the Board of Selectmen.

Parking by permit only, two (2) per family.
3.
Use Crocker Pond Recreation Area at your own risk,
waiving all claims to personal injury or death and/or property damage or loss
to the extent permitted by law.
4.
Fires are permitted only in hibachis provided. Charcoal grills and stoves that burn propane
may be used if permission is granted by the attendant on duty. Charcoal is to be properly disposed of after
use in designated containers. Wood
burning is not allowed.
5.
Cooking is allowed only in designated areas.
6.
Smoking and alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
7.
No person shall leave, place or dispose of any
garbage, sewerage, refuse, etc. under or upon lands or waters except in
receptacles provided for such purposes.
No outside waste allowed.
8.
No person shall bring a dog, cat or other animal into
the area.
9.
No soliciting.
10.
No person shall operate a snow vehicle, trail motorcycle
or all terrain vehicle at the Crocker Pond Rec. Area.
11.
All children 14 and under must be accompanied by a
responsible adult.
12.
No person shall swim, bathe or dive from any
watercraft, dock, raft or from a shoreline of any

The possession of glass containers, with the
exception of Thermos bottles on any beach area is prohibited.
14.
No person shall use or offer for any use any inner
tube ring, buoy, air mattress, beach ball, or similar novelty device of
inflatable air cell construction, nor any plastic foam flotation device in the
waters of Crocker Pond, except that a serviceable Coast Guard approved personal
flotation device or jacket or vest construction may be used as a safety aid at
the Crocker Pond beach when said user is being assisted by a responsible and
experienced swimmer.
15.
No trailers or motorized crafts allowed.
16.
Boats may be launched at designated areas only.
17.
Coast Guard approved life jackets must be worn by
children age 12 and under at all times.
18.
All islands off limits!
19.
Designated trails are intended for pedestrian travel
and mountain biking only and shall not be utilized for any other trail
activity, except that winter use of such trails may include cross-country
skiing and snowshoeing activity.
HUNTING, FISHING, TRAPPING
20.
Hunting, fishing and trapping are subject to all
applicable General Laws and Division of Fisheries and Wildlife regulations and
statutes.
21.
No fishing within 50 feet of raft or roped areas.
22.
No person shall at any time hunt or shoot within 500
feet or any designated picnic area, camping area, residence, service building,
latrine, parking lot or cabin.
I. To obtain a Crocker Pond permit you must:
1.
Be a resident of the Town of
AND 2. Present a valid license and vehicle registration for each
vehicle indicating
Any special circumstances may be
addressed to the Board of Selectmen or the Crocker Pond Development Committee.
Two permits allowed per household with valid registration for each vehicle; registered owner must present registration to obtain permit. The permit is valid from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day of the current year, and weekends September 8th through October 8th, unless extended further at the discretion of the Board of Selectmen.
II.
The guest pass may be obtained at Crocker Pond. The permitted resident must accompany their guest into the facility. The day pass must be stamped and displayed on the dashboard in plain view to avoid fines and/or towing at the vehicle owner’s expense. Please be aware the permitted resident is ultimately responsible for their guest’s conduct and notifying their guest of the rules and regulations of Crocker Pond.
III. Replacement Permits
Replacement permits will be issued upon reasonable proof loss/theft of a permit, or if the vehicle is sold and plates transferred to a new vehicle.
Replacement is free, provided a portion of the original permit showing the number is presented at the time of the replacement request. Otherwise, a replacement fee of $10.00 shall be imposed.
IV. Misuse of Permits
At all times, the permit shall
remain the property of the Town of
1. Permit registration number does not match the registration number of the vehicle to which it is affixed.
2. Permit is not permanently attached to the vehicle (Except with written permission of the CPDC).
3. Permit has been altered, defaced, copied or made unreadable.
4. Violation of the Crocker Pond Recreation Area Rules and Regulations.
5. No longer a Town resident.
V. Penalties and
Revocation of Permit
1. The Westminster Police, along with the Crocker Pond Development Committee, may revoke the Crocker Pond permit for misuse.
2.
Persons whose permitted privilege has been
revoked may appeal the revocation in writing to the Town of

The Town of
The Town reserves the right to suspend any permits
for the violation of any Crocker Pond Recreation Area Rules & Regulations
as stated herein.
