Open Burning

Open Burning is allowed under Sate Law between January 15 and April 30 each year. Residents meeting the requirements must obtain a burning permit in person at the Fire Station and pay a permit fee. Click here for Permit Rules

Anyone interested in joining the Westminster Fire Department should contact the Chief of the Department during the daytime hours to schedule a visit and discuss the requirements.  All applicants will be required to: 

Fill out an application 

Consent to a background check 

Pass a physical

Pass a Physical Abilities Test

Pass a First Responder course (CPR, Fist Aid, and other medical skills) 

Pass a Firefighter training course 

Meet the commitment to the department as a call firefighter
